(Hollywood, CA)February 21, 2011 – It is that season of the stars in tinsel town with various award ceremonies and festivities. Among of this year’s many star- studded celebrations is the Multicultural Motion Picture Association (MMPA) 18th Annual Oscar Week Student Filmmakers Scholarship Luncheon on Thursday. The Executive Committee of the MMPA conducts an extensive selection process of the recipients of The Filmmaker Awards. This year’s extraordinary Civic Honorees are A.C. Lyles (Paramount Pictures), Kate Linder (Actress), Edward Lozzi (Edward Lozzi & Associates),Michelle Phillips (Actress, Entertainer), Charles King (WME Entertainment) and just added “The Man with The Golden Voice”:, Ted Williams, (Second Chances Foundation). Last years Honorees and Finalists included Quinton Aaron (2010 Breakout Artist “The Blind Side”), Kim Myers (2010 Writers Advocate Award), Tom Ford & David Scaerce (2010 MMPA Members Choice-Best Screenplay “A Single Man”) Director Lee Daniels and the cast of “Precious” (2010 Triumph of the Human Spirit Award), Anika Noni Rose (2010 Cinematic Inspiration Award, Walt Disney’s “The Princess & The Frog”), Shelly Jo Reesman (2010 Community Service Award) and many more.
