Celebrity Profile: The 3rd season of TvOne‘s special ‘Life After‘ premieres on Sept 28th featuring Jackee Harry. ‘Life After’ delves deep into the lives of celebrities and shows us the hardships that sculpted their lives. TvOne is a black entertainment network, and shows reruns of older black show such as ‘Good Times’, ‘Sanford and Son’s’ and ‘Living Single’ along with predominately black cast movies.
Jackee Harry is a actor, philanthropist, women’s rights activist and spokeswomen. She has broke many barriers for women of color, and has been recognized by the NAACP 3 times for her contribution to Black culture. Jackee’s most recognizable role was ‘Sandra Clark’ on ‘227’ and received the first Emmy for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series’ for a women of color. Her performance so captivated the nation that NBC shopped a pilot starring Miss Harry called simply ‘Jackee’. The current generation will most likely recognize her for her roles on ‘Everybody Hates Chris’, ‘That’s so Raven’ and ‘7th Heaven’.
This Southern born but Northern raised actress, was a born entertainer. She has used her groundbreaking career to help others and being a role model for young women and other black actors, to help them advance to further than they had imagined. Although we celebrate the milestones and awards, the keystones of this path are the hardships along the road.
