R.I.P Vesta Mary Vesta Williams will be missed

In a sad turn of events in today’s news, 53 year old singer & actress Mary Vesta Williams better known to world simply as “Vesta” has Past Away. The beautiful singer was found at her hotel room in EL Segundo, CA last night.
This news really hits home hard as EZ and the team are personally affected by the news. One of the members of Team EZ (Gerod Burton) and a friend were at Mavericks Flats to watch a mutual friend by the name of Elaine Gibbs perform and Vesta was scheduled to be in attendance that night. Shortly after Elaine’s performance was ended the text came thru and the news was announced that Vesta was dead.
Although an autopsy was scheduled, no official cause of death has been determined or released as of yet. Local news reports that multiple bottles of prescription pills were found at the hotel room and they are treating her death like an accidental overdose or a suicide but not a homicide at this time.
Vesta graced numerous tv and movie screens but she was a well-respected vocal powerhouse with music in several genres. Hits in Pop, R&B, soul, jazz, and adult contemporary all to her credit.  She has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry such as; Chaka Khan,  Gladys Knight, & Stephanie Mills to name a few.
Vesta released her self-titled debut album “Vesta” in 1986 which included the first of six Top 10 R&B Hits “Once Bitten, Twice Shy“. Other Top 10 hits on the US R&B Billborad charts were “Congratulations,” “Special,” and one of the most recognizable songs  “Sweet Sweet Love.”
So sad to lose yet another beautiful talent this year. May GOD bless her soul.
