The highly-anticipated pics could have sold for millions of dollars but the couple unveiled the intimate shots on a social networking site.

In a message to their fans the couple wrote: “We welcome you to share our joy.

“Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives.”

Blue Ivy boasts a head of long black hair and is dressed in a cream babygrow.

In one snap doting dad Jay-Z cradles his daughter while she sleeps.

In another, a beaming Beyonce can’t contain her joy as she holds her baby girl.
